BLACK HISTORY POWER

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

This riveting and revealing series of lectures by award-wining educator author and international speaker, Dr. Chike Akua has transformed the lives of tens of thousands of students and those who teach and lead them. Dr. Akua is one of the most sought after speakers at urban schools, colleges, universities and educational conferences. The Black History Power series provides visual documentation of many little known African history insights, contributions and achievements.

1. Re-membering the Role of History (7 modules): For any people, history is group memory. If an individual loses their memory, they lose their mind. What happens then, if a group of people lose their memory—do they also lose their minds? What does this mean for Black people? This session examines the powerful, little-known, purpose history serves in the life of any group of people, in general, and Black people, in particular.

2. African Sacred Science (16 modules): Is there evidence that Africans introduced high science to the world? Were ancient Africans doing brain surgery successfully thousands of years ago? Why was/is science sacred to African people? African people have always had a unique approach to science, and very different from western science. This session explains the differences and gives specific visual documentation of exceptional African scientific accomplishments and insights in ancient Kemet.

3. African Origins of Our Faith (10 modules): Is there evidence of ancient African scriptures that predate the Torah, Bible and Qu’ran? If so, how were these ancient teachings similar or different from Biblical Scriptures? African people arrived at their spirituality through meticulous observation and divine revelation. Many African monuments are encoded with deep spiritual messages. But these messages are often not apparent to the uninitiated. Learn the original teachings and how to decode the monuments ancient Kemites created in this session.

4. Majesty of the Moors (5 modules): Did the Moors of North and West Africa lifted Europe out of the Dark Ages with their science and technology? If so, why is this history not well-known? What would happen if it were well-known? Learn the hidden history of their powerful achievements and its influence on western civilization.

5. Miracle of the Maafa (7 modules): Maafa is a Swahili word which means “calamity, catastrophe” and represents the catastrophic interruption of African sovereignty and civilization. Bearing in mind the daily terrorism we have survived as a people, every time you look at a strong Black family, you’re literally looking at a miracle. This session examine the system of European enslavement and terrorism with specific examples of:

A. The massacre and the mutilation

B. The money behind the madness

C. The message and the meaning of our suffering
